The Team
Itzhak Omer
Itzhak Omer is a Full Professor of Urban Geography. He is Head of the Department of Geography and Human Environment (from 2019) and Head of the Urban Space Analysis Laboratory at Tel Aviv University. He is also president of the Israeli Geographical Association. His areas of academic interest include urban modeling, urban morphology, spatial networks, movement, spatial behavior and spatial cognition, urban systems, social geography of the city and urban planning.
Amit Birenboim
Amit Birenboim is a senior lecturer in the department of Geography and Human Environment at Tel Aviv University where he also acts as the head of the Urban Vitality Lab. His research interests include the study of human spatial behaviour, tourism, health geography, and the implementation of advanced technologies such as location tracking technologies, portable sensors and virtual reality for studying human behaviour.
Michal Farkash
Michal Farkash is a graduate student in the department of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on local environmental and social impacts of overtourism, and possible mitigations measures.
